Martin Bernreuther was born in Waldsassen (Oberpfalz, Engl. Upper Palatinate). After receiving his basic musical education in his home town, he continued his studies in the subject organ as a private pupil under Professor Franz Lehrndorfer in Munich.

From 1989 to 1995 he studied Catholic Church Music and Concert Organ at the State University for Music and Theatre in Munich, also under Professor Franz Lehrndorfer.

In 1994 the young organist was awarded the prestigious cultural promotion prize of the city Waldsassen. After he graduated "with honours”, he was accepted into the master’s class under Prof. Lehrndorfer.

In addition as a scholarship holder of the "Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes” (DAAD), he completed an extension course at the Paris
